Most of the users are facing generic issue for unable to download the Error Download Log file(Button is inactive) in CRM 2011 but earlier they have used to download the log file and sometimes unable to download on the same. When users are facing and scenarios as below.
1. User is trying to reactivate for particular case and that time it will throw error but unable to download the Log file
2. User is trying to replying/forwarding an particular email in CRM 2011 and it causes the same error.
3. User is trying to update any particular account and task in CRM 2011 and its throws same error.
Please find the attached error screenshot regarding the same.
Note: earlier they used to download the error download log file.
We would like to understand on which situation or scenario this download log file is inactive and how to activate this button to get the Log Details

IIRC download log file button will be enabled if there’s a server side exception & script errors in client side will have disabled button.
Try to diagnose any script errors in browser console.
