Why XML Upon Assigning Security to AL Report?

Hi:

Below is a screenshot on creating a Permission Set in Application Language (AL) for a new report that was created in AL.

Do you really have to create a Permission set as an XML file, too?

If so, why?

Thanks!

John

XML is the old permission set before the switch to AL object.
You don't need to use it anymore.

@Pallavi Phade: Yes, but why is an XML "file" or whatever necessary?

It's a one-table report that I created using only AL, in the first place.

Why do I need to bother with XML?

Yes you are there two ways we can generate permission set for objects to be deployed

The purpose being deployment is when we deploy our app as PTE ( not Dev not global) , the permission set gets bundled into the app and user can execute the objects utilised in our app. This will allow user to execute customizations and install the app.

If you want to restrict specific on custom objects used on extension, it has to be done by Admin in permission sets and aissgn to specific users

If you feel this helped , pl verify the answer
