Edit In Excel Forcing Sign In Every Time it's Opened

Our team uses the "Edit in Excel" functionality in BC many times a day to update Cash Receipt Journals. Since 05.01.2026 the "Edit in Excel" functionality is forcing a sign in every time Excel is opened. The sign in does not require MFA. We have been digging into permissions and tokens, though are not finding any obvious answers. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or found reasons or solutions?

There seems to be some authentication and login issues with the Excel add-in. I have seen clients reporting it. You can read a previous thread here: Business Central Excel Add-in failing to authenticate

Some suggestions in that thread may help you, otherwise I would report the issue to Microsoft either through a support case or via your Partner.
