Hello All,

I need help on understanding the logic on how and why: Cancel, Advance, Postpone, Increase and Decrease Action messages generate. When we review the results generated in a live production environment, you realize how the scale and complexity of the problem, and the difficulties and limited resources Microsoft has available to resolve them, because each problem....in it's own is so unique.

Is there proper structured documentation available that logically explains how to resolve all the above mentioned problems. Can someone please help on this? Looking forward for someone to jump in and assist.

Thanks
Rajendra

    Hi Rejendra,

The outcome of these messages depends on the setup and available transactions. In the past (until AX2012), there was a specific training module for master planning.
The only official documentation about the action messages is listed here: Action messages - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

If you want to learn more, you can try to search for blogs or videos on this topic.

Thanks Andre, Appreciate the link. I have seen it before and it does a good job in defining the action messages but still doesn't address the core question on how and why the action messages generate which causes confusion.
