Exporting and importing order attachments/notes in D365 F&O

Hi,

I’m looking to optimize a process in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations related to marketplace orders (e.g., Amazon, eBay).

When orders are imported from marketplaces, customer notes (delivery instructions) are automatically added as internal notes via attachments on the sales order.

Most of these notes:

  • Come from Amazon orders

  • Contain delivery instructions

  • Need to be shortened to a 50-character limit

Current process (manual):

  1. Open each order that contains a note

  2. Copy the note and shorten it (using an LLM)

  3. Go to attachments on the waybill

  4. Create a new note and set it as external

What I’m trying to achieve is to automate or partially automate this workflow.

My questions:

  1. Is there a way to export all internal notes/attachments from a selected list of sales orders?

  2. Can notes be imported back (e.g., from Excel or another source) and attached to waybills as external notes?

  3. Is this possible using Power Automate with the D365 F&O connector?

Even partial automation (e.g., exporting notes, processing them, and re-importing) would significantly improve efficiency.

Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated.

Thanks!
