Leads automatically converting into Contacts when added

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with Dynamics 365 sales. Whenever I add new leads, they are being directly converted into contacts. From what I’ve read online, this shouldn’t normally happen unless a lead is explicitly qualified.

Is there a setting, customization, or workflow that could be causing this automatic conversion? Has anyone else experienced this?

Leads automatically converting into Contacts when added

Can you tell us what Dynamics 365 application this question is related to? There are several different solutions in the Dynamics 365 family, like: Sales, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, and Customer Insights. If you can clarify the product, we can answer the question or move it to the correct forum.
Various products have support for leads and contacts, but they do work differently.
