    Cant post in proudction order
    hi
When working with Units of Measure (UOM) in Dynamics 365 Business Central, one of the common issues that can occur is related to rounding precision and very small conversion factors. This typically becomes visible during posting processes in manufacturing, sales, or inventory transactions where the calculated quantity is rounded down to zero, causing errors or unexpected behavior.
To start troubleshooting, open the Units of Measure page and carefully review two key fields: Qty. per Unit of Measure and Quantity Rounding Precision. If the Qty. per value is extremely small (for example, 0.0001 KG per unit), then when the system multiplies or divides quantities across transactions, the result may round to zero. Similarly, if the rounding precision is set too coarse (e.g., 1.0 when you need 0.00001), the posted entry will lose accuracy. This leads to problems such as not being able to consume or output the expected amount during production posting.
A quick workaround is to temporarily increase the decimal precision by setting a finer Quantity Rounding Precision (for example, 0.00001). After doing so, refresh the related document or Production Order, and then attempt posting again. This ensures that small quantities are preserved correctly in calculations.
Another factor to review is whether you are posting the last operation in a production order. Business Central applies special logic when closing operations, and if earlier steps leave tiny remaining quantities unhandled, posting the final operation may generate unexpected results. Ensuring that all operations and routing lines are correctly configured can avoid this scenario.
By checking Units of Measure setup, rounding precision, and operation posting sequence, most of these edge-case errors can be resolved.

    Hello,

The issue that you are running into "You cannot post these lines because you have not entered a quantity on one or more of the lines" occurs even when it looks like you have entered a quantity because the quantity in Units of Measure (UOM) is very small or improperly rounded. If you are working with UOMs the quantity per UOM may be small (like 0.0001 KG) or the right rounding precision was set coarse means at the time of posting the system calculates zero quantity at the time of posting, which blocks the post.

To fix this, go to Items > Units of Measure, and check the Quantity per Unit and Rounding Precision. Change it finer for right now. Refresh the Production Order and try to post again. Also check that you are not trying to post the last operation only, incomplete operations may block posting.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    UOM / rounding edge cases
    • Open Item → Units of Measure and review Qty. per Unit of Measure and Quantity Rounding Precision. If Qty per is very small (e.g., 0.0001 KG) or rounding is coarse, conversions can yield 0 at posting. Temporarily use finer precision, Refresh Production Order, then test again.
Also, you can check that are you posting the last operation.
Mark true, “Does this answer your question” if it helps.
