business central BOM import does not take quantity

hello

I have been playing around with a test version of business central. one key aspect will be importing bom's via configuration packages.

To achieve a import I have created a configuration package with the tables 99000771 - Production BOM Header and 99000772 - Production BOM Line, see image below.

after exporting the excel and filling it in with the desired information. After importing and acknowledging the package the data gets written into the BOM, but the quantity of the items is set 0 for every item.

interestingly enough, after another export of the configuration package excel, the tables show the correct quantity in the quantity field.

is this bugged or am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

Your config package imported the BOM lines, but the quantity is 0 because you filled the wrong field.

BC shows “Quantity per (Komponentenmenge)” on the BOM page, but the config package usually exposes the internal “Quantity” field instead.

So:

Import → Quantity per stays 0

Export again → you see Quantity (internal) populated, but the BOM page still shows 0

Fix

In your config package, add the field:

Quantity per (Production BOM Line)

Fill that field → reimport → quantities show correctly on the BOM.
