I am currently exploring the trial version of Microsoft Sustainability Manager to evaluate its features and capabilities. During my initial assessment, I found it highly effective for managing quantitative data related to environmental parameters, specifically energy consumption, emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3), water usage, and waste management.
While these features align with environmental reporting requirements, I would like to understand the broader scope of the tool. Specifically, I am curious whether it is capable of managing and integrating other types of data typically disclosed in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reports. For instance, can the tool support data collection, tracking, and reporting for social and governance metrics such as:
- Workforce demographics and diversity (e.g., gender, age, and other DEI metrics)
- Employee health and safety performance (e.g., incident rates, training hours)
- Community engagement and impact
- Ethical business practices, governance policies, and compliance data
