Mandatory dimension on payment tolerance account

I'm trying to post a payment journal which will hit my account set-up for payment tolerance

On that G/L account, I have specified exactly that code with 'same' code

However, it is not taken over from that account. I also don't want to add the dimension on my line in the payment journal because then all G/L accounts involved will get the same dimensions; and I only want it to be on my 658000 account.

Is there a way to do this? I know from realised gains/losses there is something available in the general ledger setup to avoid this problem, but this doesn't impact the payment tolerance.
I have the same question (0)

I'm not aware of anything in the general ledger setup to resolve this issue with realised gains/losses, it's on my to do list to raise with Microsoft.

I have tested removing the dimension rule, but leaving the default value, this seems to work, but I appreciate it isn't ideal.

Yes in that case you don't have the error, but of course you don't have the dimension either and I would need to add it afterwards.

As long as it is a few entries, it's no problem but once there are a lot it creates a lot of manual work.

With regard to realised gains and losses, you have this option in the general ledger setup:

I'm not sure if it's been overwritten by something else, but hopefully the following information will give you some hints.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Default Dimension Priorities (Avoiding conflicts)

PS: Dynamics 365 Business Central: Set up default dimensions for specific accounts/tables (Account Type Default Dimensions)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
No, not in standard: payment tolerance entries do not automatically inherit the default dimension from the tolerance G/L account, so even if account 658000 has the dimension set to Same Code, BC still validates dimensions from the journal/document dimension set and won’t inject that one only for the tolerance posting; that’s why you get the error, and unlike realized gains/losses there is no separate setup in General Ledger Setup for payment tolerance dimensions, so if you want that dimension only on 658000 and not on the whole payment journal line, you’re basically looking at a customization/event subscriber.
