How to Email Shipment confirmation or posted sales shipment

Hi Folks,

I have read a few articles already that the emailing sales shipment is not possible unless there is a customisation.

I am trying to email the 3 documents to a particular user:

1. Pick instructions - email internal
2. Work Order - Email internal
3. Posted sales shipment - Email customer

Is this possible as a workaround natively without a customisations?

I can print these documents but not email, hence I also cannot set any email body templates.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Amit K

For the internal documents, you can use the share icon on the pages to send the documents via teams.

For the posted sales shipment you can print to PDF and then email, but there is no native email function, I commonly use clever document delivery by clever dynamics to add Print/Send function to additional document pages.

For the internal documents you can share the document as Andrew mentioned. That would be the easiest approach. I have some clients that also save those documents in a shared drive.

As for the posted sales shipment. That feature is coming in the next update and should be part of general availability April 2026 (quite excited for this because I see this come up frequently): Send posted sales shipments and return receipts by email | Microsoft Learn

As a work around you can follow Andrew's advice which is to print the PDF and email manually.

Thanks Andrew and Teagan for your insights very helpful.

    Just wondering for internal documents

Do you mean share at the top which sends link to sales order itself or I am missing anything for the Pick instructions as I couldn't find share on the report.

This will depend on your location setup. If you are using warehouse picks you can send them a link to the warehouse pick document.

If you aren't using warehouse picks I would simply just print the Pick Instruction and Work Order to PDF. If you have a small warehouse or a team in charge of picking you could also print the pick instruction directly to the printer instead.

    Hi Guys,

There is another workaround i have found which might be useful.

If you use function Attach to PDF and then use the same email confirmation from sales order you can attach this document.

These documents are then available in attachments.

Just be mindful that Attach as PDF will store the PDF in your Business Central database, which could have storage capacity implications over time

    Hey Amit,

You can create a flow to do it for you after posting sales shipment an email can be sent to the customer automatically or via approcal process, also you can attach the posted shipment document by sending an API request to generate the report via api check this out

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/partners-billing-concept-overview

but you will need auth access for that.

you can do everything by Power Automate & Azure Function without needing any customization

or you can use Attach PDF button or email button to manualy send it to your customers when it's needed.
