How should the item be registered when price changes every month.

Hi All

In Japanese business practice, when creating quotations or invoices, it is common to write something like: “Setup work – Lump sum – 50,000 JPY.”
In the following month, the amount may change, for example: “Setup work – Lump sum – 60,000 JPY.”
In cases where the price changes each time, how should this item be registered in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Nobuhara

You can handle this with Service Items or G/L Account Transaction

It seems that only customization can achieve this.
Alternatively, you can manually update the price list every month, but existing quotes and invoices will not be updated automatically.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

Is the work for the same service or a different service?

What is the current process for managing the price changes?

    Hello Nobuhara,
In this scenario you don’t need a fixed price on the item. The common approach in Business Central is to create a Service Item, Resource, or even a simple Item/G/L Account called something like “Setup Work”, and then enter the price manually on the sales line each time. Business Central allows the Unit Price on the sales line to be edited, so even if the item exists in the master data, the amount can change per quotation or invoice (for example 50,000 JPY one month and 60,000 JPY the next). This is typically how companies handle lump-sum or variable service charges where the price is not fixed.
