Setting up reminders

I have a client who wants to setup reminders in BC, and they have the following question:
* Does the reminder look at the current client balance, and should there be a balance, irrespective of whether the balance is outside credit terms, send the reminder?
Or
* Does the reminder look at “Due Dates”, and send reminders based on client balances that have passed their due date?

It is my understanding, that reminder is sent out based on the client having an outstanding balance irrespective of its due date. Can someone please assist in answering this question.

    Hello,

In standard Business Central, reminders are primarily based on overdue customer ledger entries and their due dates, not simply on the customer having an open balance. The system checks whether invoices or entries have passed their due date according to the reminder terms configured in Reminder Terms setup. So if a customer has an outstanding balance that is still within the payment terms and not overdue, the reminder will normally not be generated.

    Hope this answer helps you!
