Stuck with Publishing an Extension to the app Source

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to submit a Business Central extension to AppSource, but I am getting errors during the automated validation stating that the extension is not signed. I asked Microsoft Support, and they told me that the extension must be signed before submitting, but they did not clearly explain how the signing is supposed to be done or what type of certificate is required.

I am not Sure how to proceed further. I could find some links on Microsoft learn. but i am not sure what steps to follow in what order.

I have published a lot of extensions earlier in PowerApps but never had this issue.

My questions are:

What is the correct process to sign a Business Central .app package for AppSource?
Do I need a specific type of certificate for this, and where can I obtain it?
Can I use a self-signed certificate for AppSource submissions, or does it require a certificate from a public provider?
Is there any documentation specifically for signing Business Central extensions for AppSource?
Do i need to get a certificate or just sign the code?
