Hi Everyone,
I’m currently working with the Sales Order Agent (Copilot) in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and wanted to understand its workflow behavior in a specific scenario.
Scenario
In our business process:
- Customers send Purchase Orders (POs) directly (via email )
- Pricing and terms are already agreed
- There is no need for negotiation or quotation
Operationally, the expected flow is: Customer PO → Create Sales Order → Fulfill
Question
Is it possible for the built-in Sales Order Agent (SOA) to:
- Skip the Sales Quote step entirely
- Skip sending a reply or waiting for customer confirmation
- Directly create a Sales Order (draft or final) from the incoming PO
Current Behavior Observed
From testing, SOA appears to:
- Parse the incoming request
- Generate a draft reply email
- Wait for customer confirmation
- Then proceed to create the Sales Order
This seems aligned with a sales negotiation workflow rather than an order fulfillment workflow.
Desired Behavior
For PO-driven scenarios, the ideal flow would be: Customer PO → SOA parses → Sales Order created (no reply step)
This would align more closely with:
- from PO pdf to Sales Order auto-creation
- High-volume B2B operations
- Reduced manual intervention
Question to the Community
- Is there a configuration or setting to bypass the reply or confirmation step?
- Or is this a current limitation by design in SOA?
- Has anyone implemented a workaround while still using built-in Copilot features?
Context
This is particularly relevant in environments where:
- Orders are already contractually agreed
- Speed and automation are prioritized over communication loops
