Creating an invoice with zero amount, sample invoice

Hi

This is an order that is pretty much done outside the system, but we want the order to still send an invoice.

How to achieve this?

  • item is inventory item
  • line is not taking 0 amount after setting up 100% discount
  • warehouse shipment line is linked to it.

I have the same question (0)

Is there a problem? Will there be an error message when posting? As far as I know, as long as the total amount of the order is greater than or equal to 0, the invoice can be posted.
I mentioned this in the post below.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hello ,

Even with a 100% line discount, an inventory Item line still follows inventory and warehouse rules. Because a Warehouse Shipment exists, Business Central requires the item to be shipped (posted) before it can be invoiced—pricing doesn’t bypass that logic. If the order was handled outside the system and you only want to send an invoice, the supported options are to use a non-inventory line (G/L Account or Charge Item), or post the warehouse shipment first (Qty. to Ship must be posted, even if the value is zero) and then invoice. There’s no standard way to invoice an inventory item without shipment once warehouse documents are involved.

    Hi,

    Follow the below process.

1 - Process the warehouse shipment. Enter the quantity in Qty to Ship, create pick if required, Register pick and post warehouse shipment.
2 - Go back to Sales order, click Post -> Invoice.

This shall work. If you face any error message show the error message with screenshot and text. Also provide call stack if possible.

    Regards,
    Dhiren.
