Does Business Central store the Customer Template Code used during customer creation? If not, is there a standard way to retrieve or track which template was applied?

    Hello,

Business Central does not store the Customer Template Code after a customer is created; templates are only used at creation time to copy default values (posting groups, dimensions, etc.), and once the record exists, the template itself is gone with no standard field, log, or history to retrieve it later. There is also no standard way to track which template was applied. If you need this information, the common and supported approach is to customize: typically add a custom field on the Customer and populate it during creation (via the standard customer template creation flow or an event subscriber), or less cleanly, infer it via dimensions applied by the template.

There is no tagging of Customer Template Code in Customer Master . There is no standard approach to record how customer created using which template .
We have to do cusotmization to store template code on customer insertion.

    Hi Taher Mehdi,

To track which customer template is applied to the customer master, you can use any unused field. Enter a value in that field in the customer template, and the same value will be copied to the customer card, allowing you to track the applied template.

    Thanks
    Sathish M.
