Cleaning time after production

Dear community,

After our production orders, we need time to clean the equipment. From costing perspective, this is considerable.
Of course, we have setup time and run time.
This cleaning time is very similar to setup time so i am considering to use setup time for this. (Posting to the same ledger account as setup time is ok)
But it's not exactly the same as it is after the run time, not before.
If i am missing an option in standard F&O which is exactly for this, I would like to know. Otherwise we will use the setup time for this.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Janco,

Consider this setup on the route. You need to experiment with this and verify whether the system is taking into account the time for cleaning and posting to the ledgers.

    Hope this helps!!

    Hi Janco,

Is the cleaning time different per production order?

    Best regards,

    Hi Laurens,

Yes, cleaning time differ's and we need to keep track of actual costs.

    Regards,
    Janco

    Hi Janco,

Thanks for the clarification. Is the cleaning always after the last operation?

Do you only want to track the cost in aggregate or per production order? I have several clients who will create a dummy item for cleaning runs and schedule the clean times as their own orders to control them a bit more. Of course, this option only works if you are okay not having that cost linked to the production order the cleaning run was related to. You could try making the cleaning run a pegged supply order with unique run times but that would treat it like a sub assembly that was needing to be consumed before your actual production order is finished. Was just a curious thought on the costing piece. Good luck!
