Cash Receipt Journals - System Clearing Shortcut Dimensions on Lines

We are running into an issue where when we are editing our Cash Receipt Journal lines, the previously entered shortcut dimensions are being cleared by the system (global dimensions are not cleared). I can consistently reproduce these dimensions clearing by removing or adding a balancing account on the same line. Finance says it happens randomly for them...they indicated it happened at least once when they performed a preview posting.

The dimensions are valid default dimensions for the GL Acct chosen as well as the balancing account on the line so it shouldn't be a validation issue. I've told finance to double check all dimensions right before posting, but it would be nice to get it resolved.

Any ideas?

If this happens when the Balancing Account is changed then that could makes sense because when you're working with lines on a Journal some changes to certain fields will clear other fields. For instance, changing the Location or changing the Item, GL Account, or Fixed Asset may do it. You have to test this to figure it out.

From the Chart of Accounts, make what Dimensions Mandatory that you can for these GL Accounts so the finance team is not able to post if they are missing.
