Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with production order scheduling in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, and I’m trying to understand whether this is expected behavior, a configuration gap, or a bug.
Scenario
- I have a parent production order (P122).
- The system automatically created several child production orders (P123–P127).
- When the child orders were created, the coverage group was set to Update marking = Extended.
- Initially, the parent had a delivery date of 30/03.
- Later, I updated the parent’s delivery date to 10/03.
- I rescheduled the parent using Synchronize references = Yes.
Problem
Even though:
- Extended pegging is enabled
- The child orders are correctly marked to the parent
- I used “Synchronize references”
…the child orders do not update their delivery dates.
They remain scheduled for dates after the parent (17/03, 25/03, 30/03…), which should not happen if pegging is driving the relationship.
Question
Is it normal that — even with:
- Extended marking
- Synchronize references
- Correct pegging relationships
—the child orders do not follow the parent's new delivery date during rescheduling?
Does stabilizing a child order permanently block date propagation?
Is there an additional configuration required to make this work?
Or is this behavior not expected?
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
