Team member creating purchase quotes - errors

Hello,

We are trying to set up a way in Business Central for team members to create purchase requisitions, but we are running into a few errors that are causing some confusion.

The member has a business central team member licence, which states they are able to create purchase quotes, however, when they create the quote, if the line type is  an item, we are getting an error that reads : Sorry. the current permissions prevented the action. (Table Data 99000765 Manufacturing Setup Read: Base Application).

I have checked, and i can't see anything in the manufacturing set up that would cause a user to not be able to create a line on a quote.

As a note, we get the same error when trying with the planning and requisition worksheets, but in all cases, the user can add a GL coded line fine.

if anyone has any ideas for helping, i would appreciate it.

Thanks,
I have the same question (0)

This is a permissions error not a license issue. Give users read permissions for Table Data 99000765 and it will work.

    Hi
The Business Central Team Member license has limited access rights, and errors like this usually arise from missing permissions on specific base application tables like Manufacturing Setup. The fix is to review and extend the user's permission sets to include Read access to these tables, thereby enabling item line creation in purchase requisitions and quotes as intended.

To fix Please Contact your administrator and grant relevent permissions

    Thanks
    Nimsara

    Hi,

As per my knowledge and license guide. It should allow to create, edit and delete a purchase quote but, please check consider below points as well:-

There is no single line in Microsoft docs saying “Team Member cannot add Item lines on purchase quotes”, but the limitation might be implied through entitlements and licensing rules:
    • Licensing page:
“Permissions are generated based on entitlements. Entitlements define which objects in Business Central a user is entitled to use according to their license.”
Entitlements overview: “Entitlements describe which objects in Business Central a customer is entitled to use according to the license they purchased… Being entitled defines the maximum permissions a user is entitled to.”
    Entitlements and permission sets overview[2]
    • Key point: When adding an Item line, BC might checking Manufacturing Setup (Table 99000765). This table might not be in the Team Member entitlement set, so the action might fails. Even if you add a permission set, entitlements override it.
