Error message in sales invoice staging - Could not find a token with key accountId

Hi - I have just processed a sales order from the sales order staging table in Business Central through to the sales invoice staging table, but, when trying to process the record at this stage, there is an error message: "Could not find a token with key accountId".

Can someone please confirm what this means and provide assistance as to how to rectify this?

Thanks

    Hi,

As far as I know, there are no standard staging tables in Business Central for sales orders or sales invoices. Based on the error message mentioning “token” and “accountId,” it looks like this might be related to an API call or an integration process rather than standard BC functionality.

Could you please confirm if there are any customizations or third-party apps/extensions involved in this process? That will help narrow down the root cause.

    Hello,

That error means the integration can’t find the Dataverse Account ID for the customer.

The invoice’s customer isn’t linked (coupled) to a Dataverse Account.

Dataverse expects accountId, but the record may be a Contact or uncoupled customer.

    1. Open the Customer Card in Business Central.

    2. Use Set Up Coupling → Synchronize Now to link it to the correct Account in Dataverse.

    3. If mappings were changed, go to Integration Table Mappings → Use Default Synchronization Setup to reset.

    Regards,
