Can Business Central handle logistics companies with interlinked subsidiaries?

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the setup of logistics companies in Business Central.

We are planning to configure two logistics companies that are linked to each other. However, one of these companies also has a third subsidiary underneath it, creating a kind of three-tier structure. (including a third-tier structure)

Is this type of intercompany and subsidiary setup possible in Business Central? If so, could you please point me in the right direction or share any best practices or considerations for setting this up?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello,

Yes, BC can handle a parent → sub → sub-sub setup.
Just create each entity as its own company and link them using Intercompany Partners wherever documents must flow.
BC has no limits on hierarchy depth.

Business central does support intercompany transactions. You can create n number of companies and do the intercompany.
From Financial perspective system also does the consolidation.  If you will explain with some real time transactions and you will be doing then it will give us more idea.

Yes, this is possible. Typically, you create one BC company for each operating entity, and then create a separate company for the consolidated entity. You would then consolidate both the subsidiary and the operating companies into that consolidation company. This ensures you are not posting operating transactions directly in the consolidated company.
