No physical stock available at inventory status level

Hello everyone, I would like to show you this case we have had in relation to an item in a specific warehouse.

To do this, I am going to show screenshots before and after this ‘problem’.

This case has been detected because, when placing a sales order and reserving the quantity of the item, the system prevents the reservation because ‘there is no physical stock available’.
The following shows the list of items available in this warehouse, filtered by different hierarchy levels:
Site, Warehouse, Inventory Status

Site and Warehouse

Undated transactions for the item

Site, Warehouse, Inventory Status, Location, and Batch

Site, Warehouse, and Batch

At this point, a couple of hours later, we detect that physical stock is available again

We look at the transactions and see that a work related to the purchase order we saw earlier without a date has been carried out

Now we filter by Site, Warehouse, Status, and Location. Physical stock is available

We run an SQL query to show the data we have before and after the change: Although it did not show us physical stock available, it seems that at the data level there was, both before and after
Before:

 After:

We run a query on WHSInventReserve and it seems to match what was shown previously

It is strange because, although it seems to have physical stock available, there is a moment when the calculation results in 0 (and therefore does not allow reservations), but when the reception work is carried out in the warehouse, it ‘unlocks’ and indicates that physical stock is now available.

It may be confusing to understand, but rather than looking for a solution, I want to know if anyone else has had the same problem, or if this behavior makes logical sense. Thank you!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jesús,

You put a lot of effort into describing your scenario. Unfortunately, I'm not able to understand the details of the screenshots as these are all in another language.  I also don't know from what exact forms you took all the screenshots.

Can you highlight on the screenshots what is important to look at or replace them using English labels? There are options to change the session language: New option to change the user default or session language - Dynamicspedia. You don't need to install the free tool. The blog also describes available options without the customization.

Is the difference before and after a receipt of goods in the warehouse? What is the exact "change" in between before and after?

Hi André, first of all, thank you very much for responding, and happy holidays.

I will try to explain it with a series of tags on the same images, since the situation in question has been resolved, but as I mentioned, I would like to understand why this happens.

The form I am using to display all the images is InventOnHandItem, and the rest is adding or removing hierarchy levels to filter.

The main problem is, as can be seen in the first images, that the availPhysical column is empty, even though the availOrdered column shows us that there is stock available. However, because of this, we have found ourselves in a situation where, in a sales order, when we wanted to reserve this item, we got an error because the quantity was 0 (in relation to the availPhysical column). And it's strange because, as I said a couple of lines earlier, there is quantity available in the warehouse.

I will show the same images again but add their corresponding English field to try to improve understanding of them. I will keep this in mind for next time.

    Site, Warehouse, Inventory Status

Site, Warehouse, Inventory Status and WMSLocation
Site, Warehouse, BatchId, WMSLocationId, Status and LicensePlateId

Most recent transactions for this item in this store (I have highlighted the one we are interested in below in red)

At this point, a couple of hours later, we detect that physical stock is available again

We look at the transactions and see that a work related to the purchase order we saw earlier without a date has been carried out

Now, look again the transaction that i mencioned before:
Status changed due to this work, and if we check inventOnHandItem again:
    Now, availPhysical is available.

The problem is that, throughout the entire process, there has always been stock available in the warehouse, but due to something I am unaware of, until the status of this purchase order was changed, the inventOnHandItem form showed us an availPhysical quantity of 0, and therefore, when making a reservation for the item in sales orders, it would not let us do so. I hope this has helped to clarify my problem a little, which is basically that I want to understand why Dynamics has acted in this way. Thank you very much for your time and happy holidays!

    Hello  Jesús García,

What is the inventory status of the sales order line?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Stock can only be said to be truly available if you have some value in the 'Available physical' field.

If Available physical is 0 that means you8 have no stock available for any kind of reservation.

When purchase orders are created the qty on them is reflected as 'Ordered' which means qty which will come in future and is not physically in warehouse.  When warehouse workers perform receiving against purchase order the transaction changes from 'Ordered' > 'Registered' and in this moment Physical inventory is updated along with available physical.

So, it can never happen that for any item system shows qty in the available physical field and you are not able to reserve on sales order. If that is the case, you need to check your dimensions on sales orders and compare them to on hand. It is simply not possible.

    I hope this helps.
