In D365 FO, we have a subcontracted routing operation that can be executed by multiple suppliers.
In the standard setup, the operation is linked to a vendor resource, which makes the subcontractor fixed at route level. To use a different supplier, we currently need to change the route or create alternative routes (one per supplier).
We don’t see a standard way to dynamically select or optimize the subcontractor (by cost, lead time, or capacity) while keeping the same route and operation.
Question:
Is changing/maintaining multiple routes per supplier the accepted standard practice, or is there another standard (no customization) approach you recommend? Thanks!
