MRP Pegging issue

Hi,

We're facing issue with D365 MRP pegging. We're running constrained plan and system is constantly avoiding Sales Order sequence  (two examples below). I can understand that customers requirement cannot be met (that is main idea to run constrain plan in first place) but at least we should stick to the customer order sequence. Does anyone encountered similar issue ? Is there a known solution or a workaround ?

    Hi Krzysztof,

    By default, orders are sorted by Requirement date, not Requested date, or To date, regardless of order type. The order which you marked in screenshot 1 is sorted by Requested date, while in screenshot 2, it is sorted by To date. Viewing in the test environment is also sorted according to the Requirement date.

    Hi Charlotte,

    But sorting of view should not affect system pegging. If you would look at pegging of Work Order vs. Sales order; you can see that first Sales Ordder (S/22/05589) is planned to be manufactured from 3 separate Work Orders (x996 x997 x998) with each starting a month from each other. 

    Also looking at Calculated Delay- systems plans that first order S/22/005589 should be available on 08 MAY; but next order S/22/05593 will be available on 27 APR; and the last one will be ready for 18 APR).

    Looking at requirement - the order should be reversed. Why the system plans in that non logical way ? No customer will understand that first order comes last and last comes first.

    Hi Krzysztof,

    The first thing to notice is that the requirements are sorted from oldest to newest, the oldest being the on-hand record. The core purpose of master planning is matching up demand with supply, issues with receipts. This process of “matching up” is called pegging.

    Hi,

     

    I’m encountering the same issue in D365 when using Planning Optimization. Has anyone else experienced this?

     

    It doesn’t make sense that an earlier demand is being pegged to a later supply. This behavior causes delays and allocates on-hand inventory to later demands instead of fulfilling the more urgent ones.
