Planning availability does not deduct existing inventory

Hi, 
 
We have our finished BOM on our demand forecast.. We have current stock of 500, with demand forecast of 1000 for June...when we run planning availability ...although we have current stock of 500 of the finished BOM product...for all the components it says we must consume the full demand forecast qty for June...ideally the it should subtract 500 from the demand forecast and indicate we must consume only 500 units for all the components.
