    Hello,

To split or combine inventory with different lot/package numbers in a Directed Put-away & Pick location, the only standard method is:
    Use Item Reclassification Journal
    Create negative & positive entries
Assign new Lot No. and Package No.
Post → BC creates new ILEs + warehouse entries
This is the only supported way to split or merge inventory tracking in advanced warehouse setups.

    Regards,

    Hello,

Business Central doesn’t allow direct editing of Item Ledger Entries, so to split or combine inventory with different lot and package numbers in a Directed Put/Pick location, you must use Item Reclassification Journals.

These journals let you create multiple lines for the same item with different tracking details, effectively splitting or merging quantities while maintaining audit integrity.

For advanced warehouse setups, ensure warehouse tracking is enabled, and if frequent splits/combines are needed, consider a custom AL solution to automate journal creation and posting.

How you are doing the transaction?
Any ledgers you wont be able to modify directly.
We may alter some process to achieve the same, so just let us know how you are processing it.
