Hello Community,
I’m currently working on a Dynamics 365 CE ↔ Finance & Operations integration scenario using dual-write and Field Service PMA. While reviewing Microsoft documentation, I came across some open questions that I’d like to clarify with experts here.
Current understanding:
CE users will primarily be licensed with Field Service Enterprise or Customer Service Premium licenses (Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide).
For dual-write, all CE users require an F&O role to enable synchronization (Dual-write security roles – Microsoft Learn).
The Field Service Integration Role works for most Customer Service users.
However, Field Service Managers need visibility into Bookable Resources and the Workers table, and the integration role seems insufficient.
Open questions:
Is there an out-of-the-box read-only role in F&O that can cover CE users (especially Field Service Managers) without requiring an additional F&O license?
If not, is it acceptable/recommended to create a custom read-only role to handle this scenario?
Does Microsoft guarantee that read-only roles assigned for dual-write do not consume an F&O license? Or are there exceptions?
Any guidance, best practices, or official references would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
