I receive this error message when I try and import data to the CRM.
 
 
How can I resolve the issue? Is there a data category I need to change

    Hi,

    You are trying to create a new import map with a name that already exists in the system.

    Why this happens

    This usually occurs when:

    • You previously imported a file with the same file name

    • The import was cancelled or failed

    • CRM saved the data map, but didn’t reuse it

    • You try importing again with the same mapping name.

    Fix Options:

    1. Use an existing data map

    During the import wizard:

    1. Upload your file
    2. When prompted for mapping: Select Use an existing data map
    3. Choose the existing map with the same name.
     

    2. Rename the data map during import 

     

    3. Delete the old data map 

    If the old map is no longer needed:

    1. Go to Advanced Settings
    2. Navigate to: Settings → Data Management → Data Maps
    3. Find the duplicate map
    4. Delete it
    5. Retry the import

    Dynamics 365 CE does not allow two data maps with identical names, even if they are from different import attempts or are inactive. Delete if other exists already with same name.
