"Calculating Invoice Discount...": BC gets stuck on this message and never closes (V27)

Hi
After update to V27, when we select an item in a sales order line, we get this message that remains on the screen and never closes.

If we press the "x" on the message box, we get this message.

If we press "No", we go back to the 1st message. If we press "Yes", system move forward but I supposed with not all tasks performed.

We noticed in feature management that this feature was "Pending Data Update". Then we run "Data Update" and this is the current status of the feature. Shouldn't it be with status "Enabled"?

What I noticed from my tests is that if I copy/paste the item id directly to the sales order line, the system is fast on creating the line and it doesn't get stuck on the message. The issue seems to happen when I open the item list from the "No." field in Sales order line, and then I select an item by pressing OK. When system go back to the sales order line, the "No" field is populated with the Item no., and the message appears on the screen.

And then we get stuck on this.

Anyone with this same scenario?

Maria

    Hello,

After upgrading to Business Central v27, selecting an item via the lookup in a Sales Order Line triggers a message that never closes, looping between prompts unless “Yes” is pressed, which likely skips some processes.

The issue appears linked to a feature in Feature Management stuck in “Pending Data Update” despite running the update.

Re-running the data update or executing related job queue entries usually resolves it, and the feature should show “Enabled” when complete.

As a temporary workaround, copy-pasting the item number avoids the problem.

    Namaste @Maria Sa

I have tried same at my end , I did not find any issue .
I checked Sales & Receivables setup , and also feature manangment . We also have migrated to new experience of Sales Price as Price list header , line

Can you check any AL customization at your end

    Warm Regards

    Hi

Adding more information about this issue: we noticed that if we fill in the "No" field of sales order line with any item ID, and then we go to the item list and select any item from the item list by pressing OK, we don't get stuck in the discount message.

    Anyone having the same behavior?

    Hello,

Checked it from my end, it worked perfectly,  can you confirm if there are any extension deployed on your environment?

I unistalled the extensions and the behavior is the same.
This doesn't happen always and I can define you a standard behavior. I mean, I can't tell you in what specific situation this message gets stuck.
Based on my tests, I inserted same item in different lines of same sales order, and sometimes message gets stuck and sometimes not. This is a very strange behavior.
What I noticed is that it seems to occurs more frequently if we select the item from the item list, instead directly from the item dropdown list.
If I have already the "No." field populated and then update it with the same or different Item ID, it seems the message never gets stuck, but I cannot be 100% sure.

    Hi!

We have the same issue. Our developer can see some flaws in the code where there's no "close" function for the popup in the code, just "exit". Maybe that could cause this issue.

We have the same issue in our sandbox environment (BC27) and we're able to replicate it every time when selecting an item from the "Select From Full List" page and not from the dropdown menu. I tried debugging and it seems that if I place a bunch of breakpoints in the Codeunit's "Sales-Calc. Discount" function "CalculateInvoiceDiscount", then it seems to run fine.
I have then tried placing breakpoints beforehand: Codeunit "Document Totals", function "CalculateSalesSubPageTotals" and even before - on the CalculateTotals function in Sales Order Subform page (Called from OnAfterGetCurrRecord) - no avail.
As soon as I disable the breakpoints - only then the message freezes.
Tested this on a clean Cronus environment, no issue. It seems that it becomes an issue when some additional extensions are published or perhaps it's the amount of data, no clue so far.

We are also running into the same problem in V27 when selecting an item from the full list:

We haven't found a solution yet.

    Hi everyone,

Several customers have reported this issue to us after migrating to BC27. I haven't been able to reproduce it in a standard environment yet, but since it affects multiple customers, it doesn't seem to be related to customizations or anything like that.

Does anyone here have a new update yet?

    Kind regards,

The same here, customers stuck for a useless feature. I wonder if implementation like this are evaluated from a risk-benefit analisys.
Please revert, don't try to fix it
