If by mistake I ordered Dynamics 365 Team Members for a customer instead of Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Members (they are priced the same), will they work for Business Central?

Hey, No, unfortunately the regular Dynamics 365 Team Members license will not work for Business Central. These are two completely separate licenses:

Dynamics 365 Team Members → designed for Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, etc. (CRM side).

Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Members → specifically for Business Central (the ERP side).

Even though they have the same price, they are not interchangeable. If you assign the wrong one, users won’t be able to access Business Central properly.You’ll need to cancel the wrong license and order the correct Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Members instead (your Microsoft partner or reseller can help with the exchange). They won't work but when did you order it? You have just under 7 days to cancel licenses.

No Mate, both belongs to same family but are different in terms of there functionalities.

Try raising a ticket speak with Microsoft and see if possibly they can help.

Hello,

No the generic Dynamics 365 Team Members license is a different product/service plan from Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Members, and Business Central access is enforced by the user’s assigned service plan/entitlement, so the safe answer is it won’t count as a Business Central Team Member license and the customer should be switched to the actual Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Members SKU.
