Overpick percantage in BOM Line

Hi Guys,

when i want to enable a material for Overpicking in raw material picking processes, i want to set a percantage on the released product itself:

the other field for that value is on the BOM-Line, but when i set the value on the released product, the following Parameter is activated automatically:
Because of this, the value on the released product gets overwritten by the field "Material over picking" in the BOM lIne and I have to fill that field again, but I want the system to use the value wich is set on the released product.
This behavior seems odd to me.
Can someone explain, please?

Regards, Simon

    Hi Simon,
I also checked this behaviour, it seems behaviour is by design.
After reading about it below are my view points:
In Production control, the material over-picking tolerance can be defined at two levels:
    • Released product level -> Default Material over-picking percentage
    • BOM line level -> Specific over-picking percentage for that material in that specific BOM
When you enter a value on the Released product, that value acts as a default. However, once a BOM line contains its own value, the system considers that a specific instruction for that BOM usage.
If a value exists on the BOM line, under material over picking%, it overrides the item default.
The checkbox “Override material over picking threshold” indicates that the BOM line is controlling the tolerance instead of the item (Release Product level).

To conclude, the BOM line value setup has higher preference than setup done on released product as it is only a default value.
