Adjustment Transaction Offset Account

How to make that offset account be the same one you see in a Movement journal voucher (i.e., driven by the movement journal/offset logic), instead of the Inventory posting profile account you currently get (XXXXXX on the Inventory tab)? Is it possible?

    Hi,

There is an intended difference between these two journals. The Inventory movement journal can be used to register stock changes with the offset account. This can be used for e.g.  internal consumption and provide a cost offset account.

The adjustment journal is intended to report lost and found using the offset accounts as specified in the posting profile.

In case you want to use a journal with the option to use a manual offset account, then use the movement journal.

Hi André, thanks for your kind answer!
I was also wondering: what if I use the Adjustment → Transaction function in Closing and adjustment? Do I have the same constraint as above or there is a way to have as offset account the account that is used in the journal? If not, the only way to do it is a custom?

Thanks to anyone who is gonna help me with this further doubt

    Hi,

the adjustment function takes automatically the posting from the posting setup and I am not aware you can choose a different offset account at the time of posting (unless temporarily changing it, being sure that no one is posting anything else of the same kind). Specifically, the adjustments hit different posting types according to the document from which they originated.
These are the ones for the adjustment of a counting (Inventory expenditure profit (or loss); Inventory receipt):

And these of a sample purchase order (Inventory expenditure profit(loss); Cost of puirtchased materials invoiced):

Of course the actual posting and accounts depends on your setup
