NAV 2017 - Account Periods and Years

Good Afternoon 
 
I am after a little advice please. In a company I have recently started working for, I have noticed that their 12 accounting periods between 1/12/23 and 31/12/23 as well as the year (2023) are still open. Further to this, no year has been created for 2024 or 2025 nor have any monthly accounting periods after 31/12/2023.
 
Can someone advise on the implications of this. If I retrospectively open accounting periods and a financial year for 2024 or 2025, where does all the invoicing/journals/bank transactions keyed on or after 1/01/2024 sit.
