Nested containerization

Hi Experts,

I have a question regarding nested containerization.
Say its jus a 2-level packing.
  • 1 Box can accommodate 10 each
  • And 1 Pallet can accommodate 2 boxes

And if a sales order is having 12 eaches, D365 upon releasing SO to warehouse, create a work with 2 pallets (1 Box with 10 eaches and another box with 2 eaches. And these 2 boxes in 1 pallet). Wherein pallet is the parent container of 2 boxes.

When sales picking work is completed, these 2 boxes are lying in packing location as I have configured respective location directive to have put location as Packing. (I configured put location to be Pack as I assumed process would be similar to that if it no approved).

Questions
  1. In the case of nested packing, should the location always be Baydoor. Is this the assumption. Reason why am asking this is, unless put location in respective location directive is Baydoor, D365 is not allowing me to confirm shipment.
  2. Even if the location in location directive is Baydoor, only child containers are shown to be moved to baydoor upon closing sales order picking work. Parent container is having location empty in containers form.
  3. Is there a way to have nested packing approach even in manual approach rather than using steps codes, container build template etc? Because if containers are created via waves, then am unable to enter Tracking ID at container level and at container group level.
