General Journal Line Approval Workflows

My problem is that I'm trying to use power automate to make approval workflows for general journal lines. I've noticed however, whenever the flow is triggering an approval entry is never made on business central. I've tried adding the response to the trigger event on BC:  create approval request for the record using approver type %1 and %2 and Send approval request for the record and create notification. The issue with this that an approval entry is created but it cannot be approved, rejected, or cancelled from the approvals app from power automate.

I noticed that for the purchase invoice approval on power automate, it creates an approval entry when a purchase invoice is requested for approval. On the approvals page it will say that an approval entry from power automate has been created and then depending on the response from the approvals app it will accept, reject, or cancel the approval entry or the record.

Why is this not a thing or not working for general journal line approvals and why does it only work for purchase invoices. How do i get this to work?

    Hello,
What’s happening is that Power Automate approvals and Business Central approval entries are not the same engine, and for general journal lines Microsoft doesn’t provide the same built-in end-to-end bridge that exists for supported document approvals like purchase documents, so creating a BC approval entry from the workflow only gives you a BC entry, not one the Power Automate Approvals app can fully act on. That’s why purchase invoice approvals look integrated, but general journal line approvals don’t behave the same. In practice, you need to use either native BC approval workflows for journals, or a pure Power Automate approval flow and then update/restrict the journal in your own logic; if you want the purchase-invoice-style sync for journal lines, that usually needs custom development.
