That 5002 – Application error simply means the backend threw an internal application exception while processing the request (not a user mistake). Since it usually works after retrying or refreshing, it’s typically a temporary service/session issue, timeout, attachment size limit, or an extension throwing an unhandled error during the call. If it persists, capture the timestamp, user, environment, and Client Activity/Session ID from Help & Support and raise a Microsoft ticket so they can trace it in telemetry. Also verify no large attachments or custom extensions are interfering.
