Hi Guys,

I wanted to check if D365 advanced warehousing now supports Vendor return through Warehouse management APP setup? Can we create Mobile device menu for this with other setup of advance warehousing?

Last I checked it wasnt possible and vendor return was supposed to be standard in D365 and choosing Location dimension manually.

Thanks
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

As per my understanding this is not yet available in Warehouse App and you need to manually create return order as BAU.

There is no support for picking Vendor returns on the mobile device. I did read it was high on the MSFT backlog, but no news on any release date yet.

    Hi,

There is no option available, but we can manually perform this by creating a return order or a return through purchase order with negative values.

    Hi Abhisek001,

No this is not yet available in WMS for vendor return. You must do this manually in the client by creating a return order or add negative lines to your purchase order. By marking the line it makes it easier to perform picking in the client. One condition here is that the products are moved back to the inbound location where receiving has happened. This way the location must not be filled in manually since this will be filled in automatically by marking the line.

The Microsoft learn "Inbound warehouse operations using Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management", unit 2 Inbound operations has the following paragraph:

    Purchase order returns

Most warehouses have a specific process to handle inventory that needs to be returned. This process might involve a specific location to house the inventory, sometimes known as a quarantine warehouse. This location can be used for returns, items requiring inspection, or items requiring infrequent actions.

Occasionally, something that is purchased will need to be returned to the vendor. This can be done with the mobile device by following these steps:

    1. The return order is entered into Supply Chain Management.

    2. The return is entered or scanned with the mobile device to start the process.

    3. Items are picked and are sent through the process that is set up on the work template and the mobile device.

    4. Items are shipped by using the mobile device to handle the created shipment and load.

This discussion relates to the following idea submitted on the Microsoft Ideas portal many years ago: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=7858edc7-cea9-e711-80c0-00155d7cb38d&amp%3B

Although the original idea refers to an intercompany vendor return, this must be resolved for any type of returns. Please vote :)

Knowing that this idea has not been translated into a working solution, the above referenced Microsoft Learn documentation doesn't make any sense if you ask me; No shipment and/or load can be created for the return orders.

In the past, we solved this as follows:
    - Create inventory movement work to move items that have to be returned to a 'Return To Vendor' location.
    - On the return purchase order, go to the applicable line and do the registration and 'picking' of the items on the RTV location
    - Post product receipt on the purchase order when goods are shipped to the vendor or picked up by the vendor
