I think it does not use the serial/lot cost. It re-calculates a daily average cost and applies that value to all outbound entries. So the entries can show different Actual Cost Amounts for the same serial/lot. This is standard and expected behavior for Average costing.

That is normal. The Cost Amount (Actual) on the sale is based on the item’s average cost; it is not a one-to-one relationship with the output cost. If you want the sales transaction to carry the exact same cost as the output, you would need to use the Specific costing method.

    Hello,

With Average Cost (Day), it’s normal that Output and Sales show different Actual Cost Amounts, even for the same lot/serial.

    Because:

Output uses the average cost at output time

Sales uses the average cost at sale time

Any purchase/revaluation between those two moments changes the average

Adjust Cost later applies corrections differently to each entry

So differences are expected and correct for Average Costing.

    Regards,

    Hello Team

If you want the same Actual Cost Amount to be updated in the Item Ledger Entries, please ensure that select  “Applies-to Item Entry” is selected on the outbound entry against the corresponding inbound entry with the same Serial No./Lot No. on item tracking lines.

By doing this, the system will update the same actual cost amount for both inbound and outbound entries against the same Lot/Serial No.
