I have a matrix in which first i have to sort category by order which i did but then i have to sort the sub category by a measure column value, I have achieved both but not at the same time
its either sorting with category or with period to date
This happens because Power BI can only apply one sort logic per hierarchy unless you embed the sorting into columns, so while you can sort Category by Order and Sub Category by Period To Date, you cannot do both dynamically unless you create a calculated ranking column (using RANKX) for Sub Category within each Category and then set Sub Category to “Sort by Column” using that rank, while Category remains sorted by Order — this way the matrix respects both the parent sort order and the measure-based sort of child rows simultaneously.
