We are working with D365 Finance and Operations and have eight different legal entities. Some users should only have access to a single entity. Do I need to assign the specific legal entity under “Grant access to specific organizations” for every security role that is assigned to the user, or is there another way to manage this?

Hi,

in my view the best ways are these two:

1) you can specify for each user/security role of the user using the entity "System security user role organization assignment" for the existing ones. This a sample file, you have the USERID, Security roleidentifier and the Organization:

When you import it, the role will go from this:

To this:

To know the specific name of the roles assigned to each user to prepare for the import of the assignment, you maybe want to download first the entity "System security user role organization"

2) You can define hierarchies and assign them to new users or probably (but I dnever tried that to be honest...) using the same DMF import above:
