Context
Several days may elapse between the preparation of a payment and its final approval.
In the system, the posting date serves as the reference for bank reconciliation.
Identified Issue
If the posting date is fixed at the original posting date (e.g., 2026-05-01) while approval occurs only 10 days later (2026-05-11), this creates a discrepancy with operational reality and complicates bank reconciliation.
Proposal / Questions
- Can we modify the posting date before the status changes to “Approved”?
- Is it possible to automatically capture the approval return event and change the posting date before the status change?
A line in a payment journal is posted on 2026-05-01. Approval is completed 10 days later. The posting date should be updated to 2026-05-11, while the status remains "Approved."
Thanks.
