Hi:

Upon trying to Preview Post on a Sales Order where one of the Item Types is "G/L Account", we're getting the following error: every sales line must have same VAT Calculation Type = VAT.

The localization is U.S., the customers are nontaxable, and we don't "deal in" VAT.

So, how is this error eliminated?

I'd check my VAT status maybe I have something different for some lines like sales tax

Even though you do not use VAT, Business Central still uses the VAT engine internally. The error occurs because one or more sales lines has a different VAT Calculation Type than the other lines.

Ensure all sales lines use the same VAT Calculation Type.

On the G/L Account, assign consistent VAT Product Posting Group.

Alternatively, make sure Sales Tax–related setup is consistent across all lines.

Mixed VAT Calculation Types on sales lines are not allowed, even in US non-VAT scenarios.

Even though you are not using VAT, calculation revolves around VAT taxation mechanism. "VAT Calculation Type" is column in Sales Line and it's not data specific. To solve this issue, you can set Zero Value Posting Setup. Same case in Indian localization also, a document can be either taxable or not. For Zero taxation we added zero GST posting Setup.

Assign "Zero" - VAT product posting Group to GL accounts, Items. System will proceed accordingly.
