Dear,

I want to transfer amounts from one GL account to another. Is it possible to attach the purchase invoice in the transfer to which the amounts relate?

Hello,

You can put the related invoice no. on the journal External Document No. or description field.

If the company allowed Manual No. on journals, then you can simple use the Posted Purchase Invoice No. as the journal Document No..

Hello,

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can transfer amounts between G/L accounts using a General Journal, and while you cannot directly attach a purchase invoice to the journal line, you can reference the original document by entering its number in the "Document No." or "External Document No." fields.

Additionally, you can use the "Reason Code" and "Description" fields to provide context for the transfer.

If you need a more formal link to the original invoice, consider attaching the invoice document (PDF or image) to the journal entry using the "Attachments" or "Incoming Documents" feature, which allows you to store and view related documents directly from the journal entry.

You can use 'General journals' and use incoming document to attach any document, if not already used.
