Role Center's All reports sections are blank

ReportReport

Hello Everyone,

I need some guidance regarding roles and permissions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business central.

For a specific requirement related to Purchase and Inventory, I have created:

  • New Permission Set, and
  • Custom Role Center, copied from the standard Role Center with some modification.
I assigned all required permissions to the custom permission set using the Permission Recording feature and then assigned this permission set and Role Center to the user.

However, when I log in with the assigned user and checked the 'All' and 'Reports and Analysis' sections in the Role Explorer, both sections are completely blank.

I am unable to understand what could be causing this issue.

Any guidance on what might be mission or how to troubleshoot this would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Suketu Piprotar

    Hello Suketu,

Your UI is blank because the user only has the custom permission set.

    Fix:
Always assign base system permissions as well:

    FOUNDATION

SYSTEM APP – BASIC (or BASIC / D365 BASIC)

Permission Recording does not include navigation/system rights, so BC hides All and Reports & Analysis.

Assign those → log out/in → menus reappear.

    Hi,

I think it is a permission related issue. Try changing the permissions to SUPER to check and confirm if the issue is with the permission sets or the role center.

Also, you can check this blog to see how to add actions into the Role Explorer - https://yzhums.com/66714/

    Hope this helps.

It seems the user still lacks sufficient permissions. Try using the exclusion permission method.

    Thanks
