Inability of Service Management to post costs to General Ledger

I don't understand why Service Management and Business Central cannot post costs to the General Ledger.
If you consume resources or consume items or General Ledger expenses surely should have capability to post Chart of accounts cost accounts .
Yes the ability exists to post to Revenue accounts but you are always going to have a cost as well so I just don't get this inability to not post costs as well .
I see this on ISV extensions that can be added to business central as well for argument's sake maintenance modules for assets and I don't understand why it's not built into the system .
Why can it not be included in the standard system for service management and is there an easy way to customise this when it's not part of an ISV ?
I have the same question (0)

Yes I believe that's a limiation. I personally agree that at least resources should be "consumable" so costs can flow to the general ledger. Alternatively a lot of users just utilize time sheets or ISV solutions to flow time through to the general ledger in some way.

Personally id be more than happy to vote up an idea like that.
