Bulk edit selected entries of a table using Config Pack

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to export a specific set of rows from a table in Business Central. I have a list of about 3,000 IDs that I want to include, and my first attempt was to use a configuration package with a filter like:

ID1 | ID2 | ID3 | ...

The problem is that Business Central only accepts part of the filter string — it seems to cut it off once it gets too long. As a result, only a subset of the entries is selected.

Has anyone found a good way to select and export a large number of specific records based on a long list of IDs? Ideally something that doesn’t require manually selecting thousands of rows.

Any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is probably easier to just export the entire table to Excel and apply the filters there. I don't think there's a way to apply a filter with 3,000 values in the configuration package itself.

You could try setting a range such with separation between the ranges such as ID001..ID350|ID400..ID999.

Or I would recommend using a separate field with a common filter of some kind. Otherwise I would do what Valentin recommended.

Another approach you could take is have that table setup as a web service (page or query) and then pull it into excel or power BI and filter the data set so you have a live feed of data.
