Hi Community,

Is there a document for sales return orders and credit memos about dropshipmentsin BC? The ones I have seen are only for usual sales return orders and credit memos. But noticed that the Loation Code is same with the original sales order (not WH) and am wondering if the Location Code should be updated also (to WH) or will it be enough to only update the Ship-to Location (to WH)? Goal is to return the items TO WH regardless if the sales order is done via dropship or from WH. Also, for tracking of items, like in Items Ledger, Location Code for the sales return order should be WH? Thank you.

Hi,

You are correct, you need to change the Location code on Sales Line and Location code on Ship-to section of Shipping and Billing fasttab to your Warehouse (WH) location.

Location code from Sales line, ensure that returned inventory is recorded or received in WH location and Ship-to location ensures that documentation generated from business central specifies the ship-to or receive location as WH.

This will ensure that Item ledger entry will reflect WH location on Sales Return Receipt posting. This is standard practice we suggest to all the clients.
