I would like to explain the problem we are encountering in our company.
Our Tenant Media database in Dynamics 365 Business Central currently stands at 107 GB. (It was 95 GB on January 8, 2026).
The datababe consists of more than 700,000 .pd files (we do not know how they are stored here or what exactly they correspond to). The rest are .msg files (internal management - implementation on SharePoint planned).
The .pd files appear to be automatically generated PDF documents that are implemented in this database. I find sales invoices, sales orders, accounting documents, etc.
We have queues that allow us to automatically send emails based on filters to unvalidated sales orders and invoice reminders (containing attachments, particularly documents/bank details). This is an extension created by our reseller. Could there be a reason for this?
Our custom status reports are created in Word. Could this have an impact? Are there any specific settings we can adjust to reduce the size of this database?
We would like to reduce the size of this database because we can no longer create sandboxes. We have tried a number of things. (Orphaned media - does nothing.)
